The Gallery at the Fish Factory is a contemporary space which displays a rolling programme of exhibitions curated by our team and the local arts community. Please contact us if you would like to use our space for an exhibition, we can flexibly facilitate your creative projects.

Since opening in 2011 the Fish Factory Gallery in Penryn, Cornwall has hosted hundreds of exhibitions featuring the art of local undiscovered artists, students and graduates presenting their ideas for the first time, visiting artists from all around the world experimenting with new ideas, and well renowned artists bringing their work to share with our community.
We hire out the space as a way of keeping it independent and accessible for all. It is our aim to keep this gallery as a place where ideas are freely shared and discussed, where artists can be supported to bring their vision to life, and where creative arts and community come together in a riot of activity.
It is our mission to support artists in bringing projects together and this support can include:

Technician support for install & de-install

Health and safety advice to ensure a safe exhibition or event

Curatorial support in the planning and installation stages

Promo including poster templates, listing on our website, email newsletter and social media posting (as long as we are provided with requested info & images)

Use of our tools and equipment as appropriate
We are very flexible and want to support artists so can offer ideas and assistance if needed!
We rent out the gallery space by the week. Our week runs Tuesday - Saturday with install happening on Monday at 10am and de-install on Saturday after 5pm (or Sunday at a pre-arranged time).
Gallery opening hours are 10-5 Tues-Sat and we can invigilate your show
(although it’s always nice if you are there to meet the public).
Hire costs:
1 week: £275
2 weeks: £450
3 weeks: £600
1 month £700
+£40 for a 3hr event to cover staffing

We require a deposit of £75 to confirm your booking, with the balance due 4 weeks before the exhibition. We are happy to negotiate payments in instalments.
The Fish Factory takes a commission of 30% on any sold work, this goes toward our staffing costs. We do not require your exhibition to be commercial - we are just as excited to show installations and audio visual work as we are to show prints and paintings.
We encourage workshops and events to help you raise money toward hiring the space and to reach a wider audience. Our hire fees are £15/h fee for space hire.
Fish Factory Studio members receive a discount of £100 on gallery hire and an hourly rate of £10 for space hire.
